New Recruit

We have recently welcomed Chris Cousins to the team, who joined the business three weeks ago.

Chris who lives in Bodicote has worked within the funeral profession for the past couple of years and during that time has expressed a desire to progress his own professional development within the profession. He has joined the team as a trainee funeral director and brings with him significant experience of dealing first-hand with families when attending private homes and nursing homes and having first contact with bereaved families through his previous role.

Being a local lad, he also knows the area well. Chris will now be spending time learning the administrative side of the business and in time the making of funeral arrangements as he finds his way in his new role along with the day to day bearing duties.

The profession is most certainly in Chris’s blood, his great grandfather was Percy Hemmings of Bloxham (Claude Hemmings was his great uncle!).

Local family history is very important, and it gives you a sense of belonging. I have found this out personally and still find it such a comfort when we care for families that have maybe known my grandparents or parents having been brought up locally myself. With the addition of my colleagues Barbara, Sarah and Paul who are also local, the knowledge and memories we have of the past between us all can create such lovely conversations with families and a little light relief during such difficult times.

Chris is also the son of our colleague Paul Cousins and I’m incredibly proud to have enhanced the ‘family feel’ our service already provides with the inclusion of a father and son working together so closely within the business.

We wish Chris all the very best and really hope he enjoys a long and successful future with us.
