It is our responsibility to supply you with goods and services that meet your consumer rights.  Once discussing your needs we have a responsibility to provide an itemised estimate of costs divided into two sections. First the costs that we as a funeral director have full control of, such as hearse, coffin, administration costs, etc. Secondly, third party costs that we pay on your behalf, such as church fees, crematorium, organist etc. Third party fees can vary between crematoria’s, celebrants, flowers etc. However, we will always be transparent and honest with our costings. VAT is not chargeable on a funeral. We will request a signature on the funeral estimate as proof that the information has been discussed and approved with the client.

Payment is required in full within thirty days from the date of invoice, following the funeral taking place. (N.B If choosing a Direct Burial or Direct Cremation payment is required in full before it can take place) A deposit will only be requested for items such as casket coffins, motor bike hearses, horse drawn hearse and the like prior to the funeral.

We can receive payment for funeral expenses in the following ways:-

Cash – Please advise if you are to pay by cash as we will ensure there are two members of staff on hand to verify the amount paid.

Cheque – Either in the form of a personal cheque, company cheque or bankers draft.  In such cases, cheques should be made payable to Edd Frost & Daughters Ltd.  A cheque guarantee card is not necessary

Bank cards – We can accept debit/credit cards. No interest is applied on credit cards.

Department of Work and Pensions Payments – Invariably these are paid directly to us.

Bank transfer – Bank details are detailed on all invoice provided.

The balance of the account should be settled 30 days from the date of invoice. In the event that full payment is not received by this date 1.5% interest will be applied on the full amount and thereafter each month to any outstanding balance.
